This saint barbara music is part of the Lebanese traditional music that celebrates Saint Barbara (st. barbara), a longstanding tradition where kids wear disguises, fun outfit costumes and roam their neighborhoods looking for treats, and enjoying Lebanese desserts and Lebanese sweets while singing and dancing to this song, written partly by Maurice Awad, a great Lebanese writer and poet.

Saint Barbara, whose name means barbarian woman, is believed to have lived around 300 AD and according to local legend she was a young Roman girl who lived in the Bekaa region who wore a disguise to run away from her tyran father who kept her locked in a tower, hence the tradition.
